Abstract:

Music has played an important role in human life since the early ages. Human music is perceived within a certain period of time, so music is a time art. However, as the communication medium is needed to be heard, it can also be called spatial. Music, in addition to its time and spatial, is also formally addressed. Experimental studies have observed that music creates visible forms. The formality of music reveals the relationship between design and music. In this context, the research was carried out based on the hypothesis that music can be transformed into a design product by conceptual treatment. The study aims to transfer the result to the product by using music as the conceptual output point in the design process and to study its reflections in space. In the framework of the study, the relationships between man and music, the place of music in space, time and space, and the influence of music in space were studied. In this context, the method of examination of the design and the impact of the space with examples has been adopted, taking into account the formal aspect of music. In the specified research question it has been found that music can be used as a concept in the design process and the methods can be varied depending on the designer.
