Abstract:

ÖZET Bu araştırma, Atatürk Üniversitesi Erzurum Çiftliği topraklanııda organik madde miktarı ile agregat stabilitesi arasında bir ilişkinin tesbiti gayesiyle yapılmıştır. Çiftlik arazisini karakterize edecek şekilde yüzeyden alınan 12 adet toprak ö'rnekleri üzerinde çalışılmıştır. Bunun sonucu olarak aşağıdaki hususlar tesbit ve tavsiye edilmiştir : ı. Adı geçen toprakların üst katlarında organik madde miktarı ortalama % 1,84 olup, bunlar organik maddece fakirdirler. Bu mik· tarm artırılması icabetmektedir. 2. Bu topraklann agregat stabilite indeksleri % 35,7-84,6 arasında değişmektedir. Ortalama kıymet % 56,6 dır. Bu değer vasat seviyede olup daha da yükseltilmetidir. 3. Ar(lJtırma konusu toprakların organik madde miktarları ile agregat stabilite indeksleri araslııda %5 ihtimale göre ö'nemli potif bir korelasyon katsayısı (r= +0,5886) bulunmuştur. 4. Araştırma konusu toprakların organik madde muhtevasmı, dolayısiyle agregasyon değerini artırmak için şu tedbirlerin alınmasına ihtiyaç vardır : a) Münavebede baklagil yem bitkilerine ve çayır otlarına fazla yer vermek , b) Topraklara yeteri kadar ahır gübresi vermek, c) Bitki artıklarının toprağa karıştmlmasına önem vermek, ve d) Toprakları mikroorganizma kültürleri ile aşılamaktır. SUMMARY AN INVESTIGATION ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ORGANIC MATTER CONTENTS AND AGGREGATION STABILJTY INDEXES OF THE SOILS ON ATATURK UNIVERSITY FARM IN ERZURUM, TURKEY This investigation has been carried to find out the relationship between the organic matter contents and aggregation stability indexes of the soils on Atatürk University farm in Erzurum, Turkey. The investigated area extends' from the base of Palandöken Mountains in the south to the canalaf Karasu in the north. lt consists of young alluvial materral formed by depasits, carried by the Paşalar and Kırkdeğirmenleı streams. For this intention, twelve soil samples coHected from the topsoil have been taken into consideration, in order to characterize the farın area. Consequently, the fol1owing matters have been obtained and recommended: 1. In the upper Jayer of the soil investigated, the organic matter content is between 0.80 per cent and 2,94 per cent. The mean value is 1.84 per cent. This indicates that these soils are poor in organic matter content. This amount is to be increased. 2. The aggregation stability indexes of these soils differ from 35.7 per cent to 84.6 per cent. The ınean value is 56.6 per cent. This shows That the aggregation stability is an average value. But this should be further increased. 3. Between aggregation stability indexes and the organie matter eontents of the soils investigated, a signifjeant eorrelation eoeffieient (r= +0. 5886) has been ealeulated at the level of 5 per cent. 4. In this ease, it İs necessary to take the following praetices, in order to inerease the organie matter content, and eomequently the value of aggregation of these soils: a) To give much importanee lo legumes and grasses in the erop rotation. b) To apply the sufficient amounts of farrn manure to the soils investigated, c) To give more ernphasis to plowing under the plant residııes (stubbie mulch), and, d) To inoeulate the soils with mieroorganısm eultures.
