1970’lerde yaşanan ekonomik ve politik dönüşümlerle birlikte neo-liberal küreselleşmeye dayalı bir toplumsal ve toplumlararası düzen inşa edilmeye başlanmıştır. Kamu yönetimi bağlamında yerelleşme, belediyeler düzeyinde de güncelliğini korumaktadır. Küreselleşen dünyada belediyeler, sadece belde halkının yerel ve ortak ihtiyaçlarını karşılamamakta, “dünyayı küresel bir köy” haline dönüştürecek bir araç olma niteliği de kazanmaktadır. Bu süreçte, belediye faaliyetlerinin ulusal sınırların dışına çıkması ve farklı ülkelerin belediyeler aracılığıyla politika alış verişi yapıyor olmaları göze çarpmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışma, Trabzon ile Zigetvar Belediyeleri arasındaki kardeş kent ilişkisini kent girişimciliği bağlamında kültürel, ekonomik ve sosyal etkileşim üzerinden değerlendirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma için, Trabzon ve Zigetvar Belediyeleri arasında kardeş kent ilişkisinin oluşturulma süreci ve sonrasında aktif olan birimlerdeki ilgili kişilerle yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat ve elektronik posta yöntemi ile görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Diğer yandan, konu ile ilgili dokümanlar üzerinden incelemeler yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonucu elde edilen bulgular, Trabzon ve Zigetvar arasında kardeş kent ilişkilerinin kurulmasında etkili olan faktörler ve kurulan kardeş kent ilişkisinden alınan sonuçlar olarak iki başlık altında değerlendirilmiştir.
With the economic and political transformations in the 1970s, a social and inter-social order built upon neo-liberal globalization has begun to be designed. The localization in the context of public administration continues to be relavant at municipal level. The municipalities in a globalizing world do not only meet the local and common needs of the inhabitants, it also becomes a tool that will turn the world into a "global village". In this process, it draws attention that the municipality operations exceed beyond the national borders and different countries make political interactions through the municipalities. The study in this context has an aim of assessing the sister city relations between Trabzon and Zigetvar municipalities in terms of culture, economy and social interaction in the context of globalization. For the study, semi-structured interviews and interviews via e-mail have been made with relevant people who were in the active units during and after the process of forming sister city relations between Trabzon and Zigetvar municipalities. On the other hand, research has been done on the relevant documents. Findings obtained from the study were evaluated under two headings as the factors affecting the establishment of sister city relations between Trabzon and Zigetvar and the results obtained from the sister city relationship established.
