Abstract:

The families have the utmost duty in teaching democracy to the younger generations. Families should teach the concepts such as democracy, human rights, freedom, respect love and they should consolidate these concepts. The purpose of this study is to determine the opinions of young people about democracy according in a family relating to their gender and the education level of the parents. The sample of the study contains Education Faculty students of Ondokuz Mayıs University. 245 students selected randomly constitute the sample of the study. The questionnaire technique is used for the descriptive study. The obtained data was evaluated using SPSS packet programme. To determine the variables chi-square test is used. Evaluating the obtained data, it is observed that the opinions of students about democracy in the family is not used properly for the democracy concept in a family
