ÖZET Amaç: Bu çalışma bir hastanenin Kadın Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Kliniğinde uygulama yapan Hemşirelik 3. sınıf öğrencilerinin yabancı uyruklu hastalara bakım verirken yaşadıkları güçlükleri saptamak ve öğrencilerin görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak yapıldı. Yöntem: Ekim-Aralık 2015 tarihleri arasında Kadın Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Kliniğinde uygulama yapan ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 33 öğrenci araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturdu. Verilerin toplanmasında araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan 21 soruluk anket formu kullanıldı. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerinin %97’si eğitimleri esnasında yabancı hasta bakımına yönelik eğitim almadığını ve %93.9’u eğitiminin gerekli olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Öğrencilerin tamamı yabancı uyruklu hastalara bakım vermede zorlandıklarını ifade etmişlerdir. Çözüm önerisi olarak öğrencilerin 51.5’i tercüman sayısının arttırılması ve %9.1’i yabancı hastalara Türkçe eğitimlerin verilmesiyle yabancı hastaların daha kaliteli bakım alabileceklerini belirtmişlerdir. Sonuç: Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin yabancı uyruklu hastaya bakım vermede zorlandıkları ve bu alanda çözümleyici çalışmaların yapılması gerektiği söylenebilir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Öğrenci; yabancı uyruklu hasta; hemşire; bakım ABSTRACT Difficulties Experienced of Nursing Students who Give Care Foreign Patients Objective: This study was carried out as descriptive to identify students views and determine the difficulties of 3rd grade nursing students in a Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinics who engaged in clinical practice while caring foreign patients Methods: The sample consisted of 33 students who engaged in clinical practice in Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinics and agreed to participate in the study between October-December 2015. The 21-item questionnaire that developed by the researcher was used to collect data. Results: During the study, it was indicated that 97% of students didn’t receive training for foreign medical care and 93.9% needed training. All of the students stated that they had difficulty in giving care to foreign patients. As a solution, 51.5% of students indicated to increase the number of translators and 9.1% stated to give Turkish education to foreign patients in order to get better quality care. Conclusion: It can be said that nursing students have difficulty in giving care to the foreign patients and analytical work needs to be done in this area. This study was conducted in a clinic of Women’s Health and Diseases in a hospital in order to identify the difficulties of nursing third-class students in the care of foreign nationals and to identify the students’ opinions. Method: From October to December 2015, 33 students who were practising in the Women’s Health and Diseases Clinic and who agreed to participate in the research formed a sample of the research. In the data collection, 21 question survey forms created by the researcher were used. The findings: 97% of the students who participated in the study said they did not receive education for foreign patient care during their training and 93.9% said that education was necessary. All students said they had difficulty taking care of foreign citizens. As a solution proposal, 51.5 students said the number of translators will be increased and 9.1% foreign patients will be given Turkish education and foreign patients will be able to get better care. The result: Nursing students can be said to have difficulty taking care of foreign nationals and to have solving studies in this field.
