Abstract:

The aim of this study is to present the Opinions of primary school 4th grade teachers on human values education.The researcher has looked for the answers to questions about the necessity of human values education, the values to be gained in human values education, the influence of classroom teachers in bringing human values, the methods and techniques applied in human values education, the difficulties encountered in human values education and solutions with this purpose. This study has been carried out using situation study from qualitative research patterns. The workgroup has been determined using criteria sampling from purposeful sampling methods. The working group consists of three 4th grade teachers. A semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers have been used to collect the data. The collected data has been analyzed by using the descriptive analysis technique. According to these results; it has been stated by teachers that human values education is necessary, that values such as "love, respect, honesty and tolerance" should be gained in human values education, that classroom teachers are effective in human values education, that many methods and techniques are applied in human values education, but that "drama and expression" methods are applied more, and that there are difficulties in human values education caused by teachers, students, families and media. In addition, recommendations have been made regarding, education, teachers and family in order to make human values education more effective by the teachers.
