Özet:

Training of the health care workers, who are one of the main sources of health services, is a costly process and requires time. Health care workers also have health problems like other people. The aim of this study is to determine the status of health problems and the factors affecting the health personnel. This cross-sectional study was carried out on all health case personnel in Yozgat provincial center in 2009. A total of 835 health care personnel including 151 physicians, 325 nurses, 275 health technicians, and 84 other health professions participated in this study. The data were collected by means of the questionnaire, prepared by the researcher based on the literature and filled by the participants. Binary logistic regression (Forward LR) analysis were used in the analysis of each selected health problems. Fifty-eight point eight percent of health workers were female, 78.9% of them were married, and the average age was 34. %17.4 of health workers assessed their health as fair/ poor, 26.4% reported that they had some kind of disease or health problem diagnosed by doctors, 21.5% stated that they had mental problem for about 14 days or more in the last month, 8.9% reported that they visited a psychiatrist in the last year. The risk of disease / health problems is higher among women and older health workers. The risk of fair/ poor health status perception is higher in women health workers, nurses, health officers, persons who are not satisfied/ neutral with their lives and jobs, and the ones who have a disease/ health problem. The risk of mental problems is higher among women health workers, persons who are not satisfied/ neutral with their lives and jobs, and the ones who define their health condition as fair/ poor. Although health care workers who participated in the study have similar level of health problems with the other health workers in all levels in other places, they have fewer health problems than other adults in the community
