Bireylerin %83.8'i daha önce hiç sigara kullanmamıştır.
The aim of the study is to evaluate the dental anxiety levels and the factors associated with anxiety of pre-clinical dentist students. Tools and Methods: The study included 58 women (72.5 percent), 22 men (27.5 percent) and a total of 80 students who studied in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd classes of the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Capital University. The students were asked to fill in the form prepared. The first part of the survey form contains questions about age, gender, smoking, the frequency of visiting the dentist, the first and last dates of visiting the dentist, the reason for visiting the dentist and the habits of washing the teeth, and the second part includes the Modified Dental Anxiety Scale. I compared the dental anxiety levels between sexes by testing Mann Whitney U. Results: Dental anxiety levels are 8 in women (5-20) and 8 in men (5-15) and there is no significant difference between gender groups (p=0.453). Only two of the individuals involved in the study (2.5%) were diagnosed with dental anxiety. The average age of first visit to the dentist is 7.3±3.1 and the time of visit to the dentist is 1.2±0.5 years. 83.8% of people have never smoked before. The frequency of visiting the dentist is 53.2 per cent related to the approximation, while the main reason for visiting was examination and restoration processes. The frequency of toothbrushing was 78.8 per cent, 2-3 times a day. Result: For the study group of students, the dental education is considered to have a positive effect on the explanation of dental anxiety.
