Abstract:

The aim of teaching Turkish language is to raise individuals who have advanced comprehension and expression skills. It is necessary to teach the language in all its aspects in order to raise individuals with advanced comprehension and expression skills. Teaching a language with all its aspects actualize through grammar. Since grammar is a set of rules that emerge in the use of a language, these rules should be taught to students not by rote memorization and plain knowledge, but based on written and oral texts, which are the field of use of the language. In this context, the aim of this research is to examine the relations of grammar activities with reading and listening/monitoring texts in secondary school Turkish textbooks. The research was carried out with basic qualitative research, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The study materials of the research consist of Turkish Language Curriculum and secondary school Turkish textbooks. The data of the research consist of grammar achievements in the curriculum, reading and listening/monitoring texts, and grammar activities in secondary school Turkish textbooks. The data of the research were collected through document analysis and analyzed by content analysis technique. Based on the results of the research, it was concluded that the grammar activities in the 5th Grade Turkish Textbooks were partially related to the texts, the grammar activities in the 6th Grade Turkish Textbooks were mostly related to the texts, the grammar activities in the 7th Grade Turkish Textbook were partially related to the texts, and the grammar activities in the 8th Grade Turkish Textbook were mostly related to the texts.
