There is no question of discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the authentic materials. Almost all of the educators agree on using and integrating authentic materials in foreign language teaching classes. Because these materials break the monotony of the course books which are mainly composed of certain structures and linguistic elements, and then provide variety. Moreover, they give an opportunity to the teacher for evaluate his students and to the students for evaluate himself. Comic books that are considered as one of the authentic materials are very suitable for foreign language classes as they provide linguistic richness. The aim of this research is to emphasize the importance of choosing and using authentic materials- especially comic books-in foreign language teaching and mention possible comic books’ activities by displaying an application sample. The study consists of a theoretical evaluation and an application sample. The theoretical framework of the study is the outcome of international literature review. Comic books reflect social realities. Being visual and using verbal language they display societies’ viewpoints and so enable criticism. Therefore, they can be used in language classrooms and give way to real communication by fostering students’ creativity. Activity choice is important. Thus, this study suggests the use of these materials without losing their communicative functions by means of a sample application
