SEKA Kağıt Müzesi'nde Bulunan Pişmiş Toprak Kandiller

Abstract:

Aydınlatmanın yanında mezarlara ölü hediyesi ve tapınaklara adak olarak bırakılan kandiller, antik dünyada geniş bir coğrafyada yayılım göstermiştir. Bu çalışmada SEKA Kâğıt Müzesi envanterine kayıtlı olan beş adet pişmiş toprak kandil değerlendirilmiştir. Bağış yoluyla müze koleksiyonuna dâhil olan kandillerin buluntu yerleri ve tarihleri bilinmemektedir. Kalıp yapımı olan bu kandiller form ve bezeme özellikleri bakımından benzerleri ile karşılaştırılmıştır. İnceleme sonucu eserler M.Ö. 1. yy. sonu ile M.S. 6. yy. arası döneme tarihlendirilmiştir. Hamur özellikleri, form ve bezeme anlayışı açısından çeşitlilik gösterdikleri için Anadolu’da, farklı atölyelerde üretildikleri düşünülmektedir.

Terracotta Lamps At Seka Paper Museum

Abstract:

In addition to illumination, the gifts of the dead to the tombs and the oil lamps left as votive offerings to the temples spread over a wide geography in the ancient world. In this study, five terracotta lamps registered in the inventory of SEKA Paper Museum were evaluated. The places and dates of the lamps, which are included in the museum collection through donation, are unknown. These mold-made oil lamps were compared with their counterparts in terms of form and decoration features. As a result of the examination, the works BC. 1st century. with the end of A.D. 6th century. It has been dated to the period between. It is thought that they were produced in different workshops in Anatolia, as they differ in terms of dough characteristics, form and decoration.
