Abstract:

Tales are products that have become anonymous while their producers and narrators were known in the past, have continued to find transmission in the oral tradition by resisting time, in which the inner world and subconscious of the society in which they are told, depending on the performance environment and transmission, have a tendency to concretize in the expression, but the abstract finds reflection. The tale, in which an orphan girl, a jealous stepmother and a prince who saved her from her bad life find narration in many places and communities around the world, has many wife texts in different cultures. Among the fairy tales, the oldest known example is Cinderella in English, Aschenputtel in German, Cendrillon in French, and Zolushka in Russian, and the Cinderella tale has a special place by having many equivalent texts in different cultures. Although these fairy tale versions contain local motifs of the tradition, the transfer of universal values found in fairy tales has caused this common type of expression to exist in different cultures with similar texts. One of the texts in question is the Orphan Girl tale. In this study, in order to contribute to the determination of the value of the fairy tale sources in the world and to determine the functions of the fairy tale based on the fairy tale treasure of the Turkish world, the analysis of the fairy tale Orphan Girl was made according to Max Luthi method. Thus, it was evaluated how societies with different world views and perceptions of life, in which different environmental characters act for the same message, attribute the feature of extraordinary to the ordinary through fairy tales.
