Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to examine the situation of matching with the guidelines of teachers candidates by addressing the expressions found in the general objectives of Turkish National Education in the context of value types. The research participants are 281 teachers candidates who continue their studies in 4th grade in the 2019 - 2020 educational year at the Sakarya University School of Education. As a data collection tool in the study, Schwartz and his friends created in our country, and the portrait values survey used in the 6 likert type prepared by Demirutku and Sumer (2010) adapted to Turkey. According to the study, the statements contained in the General Purposes of the National Education Fundamental Law No. 1739 in the Portrait Values Survey have found outcomes of all types of values. It is clear that all kinds of goodness, goodness, and goodness are present in every purpose. The objectives include the most universality and the value of selfishness, whereas they have the lowest value of strength, success and pleasure, following tradition, charity, conformity, security, and encouragement, respectively. The size of the value types included in the portrait values scale, considering the value orientations of the teacher candidates, the most preferred value is universality, and the least preferred value is strength. The frequency of participation in the general purposes of the law and the conclusion is that 7 value types are parallel in the direction of ranking in terms of value orientation preferences of teachers, and 3 value types are different in the direction of ranking.
