Tâbiûn devri hadis ve fıkıh alanlarındaki zengin âsâr bilgisiyle önemli âlimlerden Âmir eş-Şa‘bî, siyer kaynaklarında da yer alan çeşitli rivâyetlerinin olduğu görülmektedir. Bu çalışmayla ilk olarak Âmir eş-Şa‘bî’nin siyer kaynaklarında yer alan rivâyetleri şekil ve muhteva bakımından değerlendirilecektir. Rivâyetlerinin tematik bütünlüğü açıdan değerlendirilmesi, siyerin ana konularını ne derece kapsadığını ortaya koyacaktır. Bunun yanı sıra Âmir eş-Şa‘bî’nin siyer kaynaklarındaki rivâyetlerinin tahric olmaksızın kullanım şekline göre sened ve muhteva açısından da ele alınması gerekmektedir. Siyer âlimlerinin siyer konulu rivâyetlerde muhteva bütünlüğünü sağlama gerekçesiyle genelde başvurdukları telfik sistemine Şa‘bî’nin yaklaşımı, ayrıca kendisinin siyer rivâyetlerinin ana konulara mı yoksa ana konuları destekleyici ikinci dereceden detay bilgilere mi sahip olduğu bu çalışmanın temel amaçlarından biridir. İlaveten, Âmir eş-Şa‘bî’nin kendi dönemi ve sonrasında yaşamış siyer âlimleri nazarındaki rivâyetlerinin değeri de belirlenmelidir. Bu şekilde Âmir eş-Şa‘bî’nin siyer muhtevalı rivâyetleri hangi dönemden itibaren kaynaklarda yer aldığı ortaya konulabilecektir. Kaynaklarda belirtildiği gibi Âmir eş-Şa‘bî’nin siyer konularında müstakil çalışmalarının olduğu bilgisi tüm bu incelemeler neticesinde ortaya konulmaya çalışılacaktır.

Value of his narrations in the eyes of the seera scholars lived during and after his period should be also determined. In this way, it would be possible to reveal that from which period Sha‘bî’s narrations has been included in the sources. As stated in the sources, it would be tried to put forward the knowledge that Sha‘bî has individual studies on the issues of seera as a result of all these investigations.
