BAZI EKOLOJİ TERİMLERİNİN KAMUOYU TARAFINDAN BİLİNME DÜZEYLERİNİN ANALİZİ

Son yıllarda toplumun çok farklı kesimleri tarafından ekoloji terimleri kullanılır olmuştur. Bilginin yayılması açısından önemli olan bu husus çalışmaya konu edilmiştir. Bu amaçla, Türkçe temel ekoloji metinlerinden belirlenen 45 ekoloji terimi üzerinde çalışma yapılmıştır. İstanbul’da yaşayan toplam 400 kişiye söz konusu ekoloji terimlerini bilme düzeyleri ve ekoloji terimini bilgilenme kaynakları sorulmuştur. Sonuç olarak,  ekoloji terimlerinin bilgilenme düzeyi en yüksek olan terimler Kirlilik (%79,3), Kuraklık (%77,8) ve Erozyon (%75,8) olarak belirlenmiştir. En az bilinen ekoloji terimleri Alpin (%88,5), Omnivore (%87,0) ve Denitrifikasyon (%82,8) olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ekoloji terimlerinin bilgilenme kaynağı ortalama değerlere göre kitap seçeneği (%19,6) olmakla birlikte bilinme düzeyini gazete, internet ve televizyon seçeneklerinin yüksekliği önemli katkı sağlamıştır. Dolayısıyla ekoloji terimlerinin bilinmesini arttırmak ve topluma doğru bir şekilde aktarılabilmesini sağlamak için bu bilgilenme kaynakları kullanılması oldukça etkili olacaktır.

In recent years, ecological terms have been used by many different sections of society. It is important for the dissemination of this information. For this purpose, the study was carried out on 45 ecological terms determined from the Turkish basic ecological texts. A total of 400 people living in Istanbul have been asked about the levels of knowledge of the environmental terms and the sources of information about the environmental terms. As a result, the terms with the highest level of information of ecological terms are defined as pollution (79.3%), drought (77.8%), and erosion (75.8%). The least known ecological terms have been found to be Alpin (88,5%), Omnivore (87,0) and Denitrification (82,8). The source of information of ecological terms is the book option (19.6%) according to the average values, but the level of knowledge has been significantly contributed to the high level of newspaper, internet and television options. Therefore, the use of these information resources will be quite effective to increase the knowledge of the terms of ecology and ensure that they can be properly transmitted to society.

In recent years the ecology term has been used by diversified compartments of the population. This issue has been discussed in the current study since it is important in terms of the dissemination of knowledge. The study addressed 45 certain ecology terms from the most common Turkish literature. Four hundred people living in Istanbul have been questioned for consciousness and sources of knowledge of those ecology terms. The most known terms have been identified as Pollution/Kirlilik (79,3%), Drought/Kuraklık (77,8%) and Erosion/Erozyon (75,8%). The least known terms have been identified as Alpine/Alpin (88,5%), Omnivore/Omnivor (87,0%) and Denitrification/Denitrifikasyon (82,6%). Even though books as a source were in 19,6% partition, newspaper, internet, and television were noticed as prominent sources. Thus, those sources are suggested for the public learning of ecology terms.
