Analogy is a form of mapping between the similar features of concepts and principles. Analogy is a type of description used to learn and understand new information. Individuals’ existing knowledge that is well-learned and kept in long-term memory has an important role to be used for the new learnings. The aim of this research is to determine the analogies of pre-service primary school teachers towards Science and Art Center and to reveal their perceptions about this institution. The sample of the study consists of 112 pre-service primary school teachers who continue their education in Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, the Department of Primary School Education in the 2019-2020 academic year. Qualitative research method was used in the research study. The data obtained were analyzed by making content analysis. The data of the research were collected using a form consisting of 10 questions prepared by the researchers to reveal what kind of analogies the pre-service primary school teachers use for Science and Art Center (SAC). In the research, the analogies formed by pre-service teachers were found to be structural, functional, both structural and functional, and few of them were included under the classification of pictorial analogies and verbal-pictorial analogies. The fact that pre-service teachers did not specify the limitations and justifications of the analogies they have developed and did not use more than one source to explain the target concept suggests that they do not have a versatile knowledge of the general structure of SAC. It is important for SACs that the pre-service primary school teachers making positive analogies about SACs in order to fulfill the function of these institutions.
