Abstract:

Drug use, which has a serious impact on the future of societies and has become a major problem of the age, and the analysis of public policies arising in the fight against this problem, the identification of the missing aspects in the implementation and the implementation of effective policies are of vital importance. But in Turkey there is no sufficient number and content public policy analysis work in the field of the fight against the drug issue. The main objective of the study in this context is to identify and analyze the levels of awareness of young people aged 18-24 in Turkey in the fight against the drug problem. The study is looking for answers to the following questions: How much do young people know about drugs? What do young people in our country think about the drug issue, the measures taken for the solution, or the public policies created? How much is the public institutions that work in the fight against drugs known by young people? The study is a quantitative field research and was carried out as a model according to the cutting-edge survey model. In the research, a fully structured survey form was used as a data collection tool. After the surveys have been completed, the data in the survey forms with consistent answers have been encoded and uploaded to the SPSS 16.0 program and then passed to the analysis stage. The study was prepared using the data obtained from the research project entitled "Social perception in the drug policy of Turkey within the framework of the Public Policy Approach" supported by the Necmettin Erbakan University, BAP Coordination. The study concluded that the existing public policies should be explained to young people, adopted, and the level of awareness of young people in this regard should be raised in order to be more successful in the fight against drugs.
