Abstract:

Subject of this study is correlation of the tendencies of religiosity with the dark triad (i.e. narcissist, machiavellianism, and psychopathy )personality traits. Our main problem consists of that whether to be any differences in dark triad level according to the tendencies of religiosity. In this context, the religiousness tendency of the sample group, which was randomly determined among adult individuals residing in Yeşilyurt and Battalgazi districts of Malatya province and actively engaged in business life, was presented and its relationship with dark triad personality traits was investigated. Frequency and Chi-Square tests were used in the study, and SPSS 16.0 statistical package program was used to evaluate the data and to find the calculated values. Field research was carried out in December 2019-March 2020. According to the results of the study, a differentiation was determined according to the dark triad level in terms of gender, marital status, subjective perception of religiousness, family piety perception, prayer and fasting status. In the gender and dark triad personality level of the sample, males scored higher than females. According to marital status, the dark triad scores of married people in the sample were lower than singles. As the subjective perception of religiousness, family piety perception, prayer, and fasting status of the sample increased, the levels of the dark triad personality traits were decreased.
