The aim of this study is to identify the impact of Turkey’s oil, natural gas and coal consumption on economic growth in the 1990-2016 period. In the study, analysis was carried out using data on non-clean domestic net (GDP), non-clean fixed capital formation, total labour force, natural gas, oil and coal consumption variables. The extended Dickey-Fuller unit root test was used to test the durability of the series and it was found that the series contained the unit root. After the estimated vector otoregresive model by determining the appropriate delay value, Johansen was passed to the matching test. The combination test resulted in a significant combination vector. The results of the analysis show that oil, natural gas and coal consumption and growth have been moving together over the long term. Natural gas consumption has a long-term positive impact on growth, while oil and coal consumption has a negative impact on growth. The GDP has reacted significantly and positively to the shocks in natural gas consumption for the first two years and has not reacted significantly to the shocks in oil and coal consumption. These results show that Turkey’s growth is dependent on fossil fuel consumption.
