Abstract:

In this research, it is aimed to determine the mobbing situations of teachers in primary schools in TRNC and to reveal the methods of dealing with these situations. The study group of the research consists of primary education teachers who work in primary schools in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Semi-structured open-ended questions prepared by the researchers are used as a data collection tool in the research. In the qualitative research design, semi-structured interview and document analysis, one of the qualitative research techniques, are used in the research that is carried out in the survey method. In the analysis of the data, it is subjected to content analysis including coding and categorization. As a result of the study, teachers stated that they had been exposed to mobbing consciously or unwittingly before, that they observed teachers and administrators who were exposed to mobbing tendency, and that teachers’ mobbing situations were caused by the administrators or teachers. The solution suggestions when faced with mobbing are the methods of talking face to face with the mobbing person, doing his / her job without paying attention, ignoring the person applying mobbing, responding with their success, contacting the union or senior management or requesting appointment.
