Abstract:

The aim of this research is to identify the opinions of the teachers of science about the "distance education" studies carried out in our country during the spring period of the Covid-19 epidemic in 2020. In order to reveal the experiences of the 10 teachers involved in the study, the "example event study" was used from quality methods in the research. The teachers who will be involved in the research have been used by the "sample sample" technique while determining the teachers to be involved. 12 open end questions are prepared for teachers to identify "distance learning experiences" during the process. The questions were sent to the participants by e-mail because it was not possible to face-to-face conversation with the teachers during the epidemic process. The data obtained from the teachers' answers were analyzed using content analysis. When the findings were studied, teachers stated that they used the EBA actively in this process, and that with the beginning of the "live lesson" practice, remote education became more efficient. Teachers, though they had experienced technical difficulties originally caused by the system, later stated that these difficulties partially disappeared. The most important problem for teachers was that students without the internet, the computer, the smartphone were unable to benefit from the distance learning process. Teachers have expressed that in the upcoming periods, an alternative "complementary education" for face-to-face education should always exist. The teachers who are anxious at the time of the live lessons began, said that "in-service training" should be organized in the subsequent process on this subject. As a result, in the event of the opening of schools in the 2020 GIS period, the situations that administrators, teachers and students should pay attention to in order to reduce the infectiousness of the virus are listed in recommendations.
