Dokuzuncu Sınıf İngilizce Ders Kitabının Öğretmen ve Uzman Görüşlerine Göre Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı devlet ortaöğretim okullarında dokuzuncu sınıf İngilizce ders kitabı olarak kullanılan Power Up 9 ders kitabı setinin ortaöğretim dokuzuncu sınıf İngilizce öğretim programına uygunluğunun öğretmen ve uzman görüşlerine göre incelenmesidir. Çalışma, nitel araştırma yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiş olup görüşme ve doküman analizi teknikleri kullanılarak yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu 15 dokuzuncu sınıf İngilizce öğretmeni ile üniversitelerde görev yapmakta olan 5 alan uzmanından oluşmaktadır. Veriler yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığı ile elde edilmiş içerik analizi yöntemi ile çözümlenmiş ve Power Up 9 ders kitabı setinin doküman analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları 9. sınıf İngilizce ders kitabının fiziksel özellikleri ve öğretim programının hedef boyutu açısından kısmen yeterli olduğunu, ancak içerik, öğrenme öğretme süreçleri ve değerlendirme boyutları bakımından yetersiz olduğunu ortaya çıkarmıştır. Öğrenci çalışma kitabının ders kitabını destekleyici ve ilgi çekici olduğu ancak öğretmen kılavuz kitabının öğretmen için yönlendirici olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, ders kitabının sistematik olarak değerlendirilmesi önerisinde bulunulmuştur.

Evaluation of the 9th Class English Curriculum by Teacher and Expert Opinions

Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the suitability of the Power Up 9 curriculum set used as a ninth-class English curriculum in public secondary schools according to the teachers and expert opinions of the teacher and teacher of the ninth-class English curriculum. The study was carried out using the quality research method and was carried out using the interviews and document analysis techniques. The study group consists of 15 ninth-class English teachers and 5 field experts working at universities. The data was obtained through a semi-configured interview form; it was analyzed by the content analysis method and the document analysis of the Power Up 9 curriculum set. Results of the research 9. The class has shown that the physical characteristics of the English curriculum and the curriculum are partially sufficient in terms of the target size, but are insufficient in terms of content, learning teaching processes and evaluation dimensions. The student’s workbook is supporting and interesting; but the teacher’s guide has not been determined to be a guide for the teacher. The study suggested that the curriculum should be systematically evaluated.

Evaluation Of Ninth Grade English Course Book According To Teacher and Specialist Views

The purpose of this study is to examine the compliance of Power Up 9 Course Book, Workbook and Teacher's Book, which is used as the ninth grade English course book at public secondary schools, with the 9th grade English curriculum according to teacher and specialist views. The study was carried out by qualitative research method using interview and document analysis techniques. The study group consists of 15 ninth grade English teachers and 5 field experts working at universities. Data were obtained through semi-structured interview form, analyzed through content analysis method and document analysis of Power Up 9 textbook set was carried out. Research results revealed that,the course book was partly sufficient in terms of its physical properties and the goals defined in the curriculum. However, it was found insufficient in many respects in terms of content, learning and teaching process and evaluation items of the curriculum. The study also revealed that the workbook in general supports the course book, is enjoyable to study and interesting; but the teacher’s book does not provide guidance to the teacher As a result, it has been suggested that the course book should be evaluated systematically for high efficiency in use.
