Bu çalışmada, Altınapa Barajı Havzası’nda mevcut arazi kullanımına etki eden coğrafi faktörler ile arazi kullanım özelliklerinin değerlendirilmesi hedeflenmektedir. Konya şehrinin batısında yer alan havza, Meram Çayı’nın su toplama sahasından oluşmaktadır. Gerek doğal gerekse beşeri kaynak değerleri bakımından zengin olan Altınapa Barajı Havzası’nda, son yıllarda yanlış arazi kullanımı konusunda gözle görülür oranda hatalı uygulamalar gerçekleşmektedir. Arazi kullanımı konusundaki bu problemlerin hem geçmişten günümüze hem de yakın gelecekteki etkileri bakımından değerlendirilmesi, çözüm arayışları adına atılması gereken önemli bir adımdır. Dolayısıyla çalışma bu yönüyle oldukça önem arz etmektedir. Çalışmanın gerçekleştirilmesi için konu ile ilgili dokümanter kaynakların yanı sıra resmî kurumlardan temin edilen harita, istatistik ve raporlardan yararlanılmıştır. Veri toplama ve hazırlama sürecinden sonra saha çalışmaları yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmalar esnasında sahanın güncel arazi kullanım özellikleri belirlenmiş ve haritalandırılmıştır. Ayrıca arazi kullanımına etki eden süreçler ve etki değerleri yerinde gözlemlenerek kayıt altına alınmıştır. Çalışmanın tematik haritaları MapInfo 9.5 programı yardımıyla 1/100.000 ölçek detayında çizilmiştir. Son aşamada ise elde edilen tüm bilgiler Coğrafya biliminin ilkeleri doğrultusunda analiz edilerek bu çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda, Altınapa Barajı Havzası’nda I. ve II. sınıf arazilerde kültür bitkilerinin seçim ve sulama tekniklerinde yanlışlıkların olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Ayrıca VI. ve VII. sınıf arazilerin kuru tarım amaçlı kullanıldığı ve VIII. sınıf arazilerin de toprak olma özelliğini kaybettiği tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, yanlış arazi kullanımı yüzünden havza topraklarının %89,2’lik kesiminin zarar gördüğü anlaşılmıştır. Bu konuda yöre halkına, öncelikle Altınapa Barajı Havzası’nın potansiyel değerleri kavratılmalı, daha sonra da bu değerleri koruma ve kullanma yolu öğretilmelidir.
In this study, the aim is to evaluate the geographical factors affecting the existing land use in the Altınapa Barjı Pool and the land use characteristics. The pool, located in the west of the city of Konya, consists of the water collection area of Meram Tea. In the Altınapa Barjı Pool, which is rich in natural and human resources values, in recent years there is a noticeable rate of misuse in the use of land. The assessment of the effects of these problems in the field of land use, both from the past to the present and in the near future, is an important step in the name of the search for solutions. Therefore, the work is very important in this direction. For the conduct of the study, the documentary resources related to the subject, as well as maps, statistics and reports provided by the official institutions, were used. After the process of data collection and preparation, the field work was done. During these studies, the current land use characteristics of the site have been identified and maped. The processes and impact values that affect the use of the land have also been recorded by observing on the site. The thematic maps of the study are drawn in 1/100,000 scale details with the help of MapInfo 9.5. In the final stage, all the information obtained was analyzed according to the principles of geographical science. The study was conducted in the I and II Basin Basin. It has been revealed that there are mistakes in the selection and irrigation techniques of cultivated plants in class lands. Also VI. and VII. class lands are used for dry farming and VIII. It has been determined that class lands have lost their property of being soil. As a result, it was understood that 89.2% of the basin lands were damaged due to incorrect land use. In this regard, the local people should first be taught the potential values of the Altınapa Dam Basin, and then they should be taught how to protect and use these values.

After the data collection and preparation process, field studies were conducted. During these studies, current land use characteristics of the site were determined and mapped. In addition, the processes affecting land use and their impact values were observed on-site and recorded. The thematic maps of the study were drawn in 1 / 100.000 scale detail with the help of MapInfo 9.5 program. In the last stage, all the information obtained was analyzed in accordance with the principles of Geography and this study was carried out.As a result of the study, it was found that there were inaccuracies in the selection and irrigation techniques of cultivated plants in the first and second class lands in Altınapa Dam Basin. In addition, the sixth and seventh class lands were used for dry farming and the eighth class lands lost their soil chara. As a result, 89.2% of the basin soils were damaged due to wrong land use. In this respect, the potential values of Altınapa Dam Basin should be comprehended to people of this region firstly and then the way of protecting and using these values should be taught.
