CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION FOR ADULTS II. ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT CPR is classified as basic life support (BLS), advanced life support (ALS) and post resuscitation support. BLS consists of provision of a patent upper airway, artificial ventilation and circulation of blood by closed chest car- diac compressions. ALS includes use of specialized equipment to main- tain the airway, early defibrillation and pharmacologic therapy. In August 2000, the American Heart Association and the European Resuscitation Council published the “Guidelines 2000 for Cardiopulmonary Resuscita- tion and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. An International Consensus an Science” which include a section on advanced life support (ALS). In this article, the details of the revised guidelines for ALS are reviewed. Key Words: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), Defibrillation
KPR includes basic life support (TYD), advanced life support (YD) and resusitas-ion post-support. TYD provides airline transparency, provides circulation with artificial breathing and closed toral compressions. The IYD includes early defibrillation and pharmacological treatment with advanced vehicle tools, providing airline transparency and ventilation. In August 2000, the American Heart Association (AHA) and the European Re-Discovery Council (ERC) also included information about IYD " Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. The International Scientific Association of the United Nations (UNICEF) has published a report. In this article, we review the re-edited IYD guide. Keywords: cardiopulmonary resuscitation (KPR), basic life support (TYD), advanced life support (YD), defibrillation. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation for adults.
