Amaç: Bibliyometrik analizler bilimsel dergilerin iç değerlendirilmesinin yapılması ve etki değerinin arttırılmasına yönelik editöryal politikaların belirlenmesi açısından önemlidir. Bu makalede Eklem Hastalıkları ve Cerrahisi (EHC) Dergisinin bibliyometrik verilerin tanımlanması ve atıf almasını etkileyen faktörler araştırılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Retrospektif bibliyometrik olarak dizayn edilen bu çalışmada: Yayımlandığı ilk sayısından bu yana 30 yılık süreçteki EHC tüm makaleleri gözden geçirildi. Çalışmanın bu ilk bölümünde SCI-E öncesi dönem araştırıldı. Makalelerin yazar, kurum, çeşit ve konu özellikleri değerlendirildi. Atıf almayı etkileyen faktörler analiz edildi. Kategorik veriler için ki-kare, sayısal veriler için Anova testi ve posthoc karşılaştırmada t testi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Değerlendirilen toplam 688 makaleden 134 ü (%19,5) en az bir atıf almıştır. Bu çalışmada atıf almayı etkileyen en önemli faktör makalelerin tam metinine internetten ulaşılabilmesi olmuştur (p<0,01). Ayrıca makale dili de atıf almada anlamlı bulundu (p=0,026). Makale başına ortalama yazar sayısı 3,8 ve atıf sayısı 0,7 olarak bulundu. Makalelerin en çok Üniversitelerden gönderildiği tespit edildi. Sonuç: Bilimsel bir derginin gelişim süreci içerisinde bazı mesafeler kat etmesi gerekmektedi. Dergide yayımlanan makalelerin tam metinlerine web ortamında erişilebilir olması, atıf almada önemli bir etkendir. Ayrıca özgün araştırma ve derleme türü makalelerin daha çok atıf alabileceği değerlendirilmiştir. Bununla birlikte iyi seçilmiş bir olgu sunumu da atıf alabilir. Son olarak uluslararası atıf açısından yurtdışı ve İngilizce makaleler avantajlı olabilir.
Objective: Bibliometric analysis is important for the internal evaluation of scientific journals and for the determination of editorial policies to increase their impact. This article examines the factors that influence the identification and reference of bibliometric data by the Journal of Arthritis and Surgery (EHC). Tool and Method: Retrospective bibliometrically designed in this study: since the first number it was published, all the articles of the EHC in the 30th year process have been reviewed. In this first part of the study, the SCI-E pre-period was investigated. The authors of the articles, the institution, the variety and the theme characteristics have been evaluated. Factors that influence the reference were analyzed. For category data, the ki-quare, the Anova test for numeric data and the t test were used in posthoc comparison. Results: 134 out of the total of 688 evaluated articles (19.5%) received at least one reference. The most important factor in this study was the access to the full text of the articles on the Internet (p<0,01). It also found meaningful in the reference language (p=0,026). The average number of writers per article was 3.8 and the number of references was 0.7. It was found that the most articles were sent from universities. The conclusion: a scientific magazine had to double some distances during the development process. The fact that the full text of the articles published in the magazine is accessible on the web environment is an important factor in reference. It is also estimated that original research and compilation type articles could get more reference. However, a well-selected presentation of facts can also be referred to. Finally, foreign and English articles can be advantageous in terms of international reference.
Aim: Bibliometric analysis; It is important for the self evaluation of scientific journals and the determination of editorial policies to increase the impact factor. In this study, the factors affecting the identification and citation of bibliometric data of the Journal of Joint Diseases and Related Surgery (Join Dis Rel Surg) were investigated. Material and Methods: In this retrospective bibliometric study, all Join Dis Rel Surg articles were reviewed for 30 years from the first issue. In this first part of the study, the period before SCI-E was investigated. Author, institution, variety and subject characteristics of the articles were evaluated. Factors affecting to cited were ana-lyzed. Chi-square was used for categorical data, Anova test was used for numerical data and t test was used for posthoc comparison. Results: Of the 688 articles reviewed, 134 (19.5%) received at least one citation. In this study, the most important factor affecting citation, the full text of the articles was available online (p <0.01). In addition, the language of the article was found to be significant (p = 0.026). The average number of authors per article was 3.8 and the number of citations was 0.7. Most of the articles were sent from universities. Conclusion: A scientific journal had to make some progress in the development pro-cess. The fact that the full texts of the articles published in the journal are accessible on the web is an important factor in receiving citations. In addition, it was evaluated that original research and review articles could receive more citations. However, a well-selected case report may also be cited. Finally, international and English articles may be advantageous in terms of international citations.
