Abstract:

The subject of this research is the quality of urban life with the physical and social facilities of the Army city. Analysis of how the military city will be a more viable city is also the purpose of the research. In this context, recreation areas, transportation, access to infrastructure services, health, environment and safety aspects, gender, age, education, income, profession, army(ma), have been evaluated in the axes of living(ma) in the majority. The research was carried out in the Army's Altınordu district between June-October 2015. In the survey of 400 people with random sampling techniques, the information was collected with the survey prepared by researchers. The information obtained in the study was analyzed on the computer through a statistical program and presented in tables. The participants were asked a question "What do you think are the first three problems of the Army city," and a total of 53 different problems were identified. According to the participants’ answers, the first ten issues are as follows: traffic, infrastructure/infrastructure, transportation, urbanization, unemployment, lack of recreational areas, environmental pollution, parking, shopping centers, and lack of socio-cultural activities. Minimum, average and maximum points are calculated for each title. For all these titles, gender, age, education, income, profession, army (ma), the points given in the axes of living (ma) in the majority of the city, the average points remained much below. In other words, the participants considered the Army City insufficient in the areas of recreation, transportation, access to infrastructure services, health, environment and safety.
