Chekhov’s work named “Kashtanka” has been written in 1887 and Hidayat’s work named “The Stray Dog” has been published in 1942. However, the first Persian translation of “Kashtanka” was about sixteen years after the publication of “The Stray Dog”. Thus, it is required to disclosure of the situation can not be coincidence that almost all the works of Hedayat, where seems the traces of Chekhov. This case, firstly, obliges to begin from translation of Chekhov’s work into Persian, even from the recognition process of Iranian readers with Russian authors and their Works to compare “Kashtanka” and “The Stray Dog”, and to explain, where the similarities between them stem from. In this paper, the influence of the XX. the century Russian author A.P. Chekhov, on the Iranian XX. Century writer S.Hidayat is examined, and also their works “Kashtanka” and “ The Stray Dog” are compared
