Ziya Gökalp’in etkisiyle Milliyetçilik akımının ve Yeni Lisan akımının öncüleri arasında yer alan Ömer Seyfettin, Türklük’e ve Türk milliyetçiliğine değer veren ve dilin öneminin farkına varmış olan yazarlarımızdandır. Edebî hayata şiirle giriş yapmış, otuz altı yıllık kısacık ömrüne rağmen hemen her edebî türde eser vermiş, edebiyatımızda sağlam bir yer edinmiş olan Ömer Seyfettin, hikâyelerinde klasik Maupassant yapısını, olay öyküsü anlayışını devam ettirmiştir. Yazar, yazı hayatının en verimli dönemi olarak nitelendirilen ömrünün son yıllarında tiyatro türünde de eser yazmıştır. Mahçupluk İmtihanı adlı komedisi de bu dönemde yazılmış eserlerinden biridir. Özellikle hikâyelerinde olayların etkisini artırmak için mizahtan yararlanarak eserini oluşturma tekniğini kullanan yazar, ömrünün son günlerinde komedi türünde yazdığı tiyatro eseri ile de bu etkiyi sağlamak istemiştir. Bu çalışmada Ömer Seyfettin’in komedi türündeki Mahçupluk İmtihanı adlı tiyatro eseri mizah unsurları bağlamında değerlendirilmiş ve yazarın eserindeki komikliği hangi unsurlarla, nasıl sağladığı belirlenmiştir.
With Ziya Gökalp’s influence, Omer Seyfettin, who is among the leaders of the Nationalism and the New Lisan flow, is one of our writers who value Turkey and Turkish nationalism and who has realized the importance of the language. He has entered literary life with poetry, despite his thirty-six years of short life, he has done almost every literary work, has gained a solid place in our literature, Omer Seyfettin has continued the classical Maupassant structure in his stories, the understanding of the story of the event. The writer has also written in the theatre style in the last years of his life, which is called the most productive period of his writing life. The comedy is one of the works written in this period. The writer, who used the technique of creating his work using humor to increase the impact of events in his stories, wanted to provide this effect with the theatrical work he wrote in the comedy style in the last days of his life. In this study, Omer Seyfettin's theatrical work named Mahçupluk Imtihanı in the comedy genre was evaluated in the context of the humorous elements and determined with what elements the writer's work was funny, how it provided.
Ömer Seyfettin, who is among the pioneers of the nationalism and new language movement under the influence of Ziya Gökalp, appreciates Turkishness and Turkish nationalism and is aware of the significance of language. Ömer Seyfettin, who entered the literary life with poetry, produced works in almost every literary genre despite his short life of thirty-six years, and gained a solid place in our literature, continued the classical Maupassant structure and the understanding of event story in his stories. In the last years of his life, which is described as the most productive period of his career, he also wrote plays. His comedy “Mahçupluk İmtihanı (An Exam of Embarassment) is one them. The author, who uses the technique of creating his work by using humor to increase the effect of events, especially in his stories, wanted to achieve this effect with his play in the comedy genre in the last days of his life. In this study, this play has been evaluated within the context of humor and the elements of humor in this play have been determined
