Abstract:

The higher participation percentage in physical and sport activities for health and fitness constitutes the most important part of effective national sports systems. Within the European Union (EU), the European Network of Sports Science Education and Employment (ENSSEE) has developed a new framework for health and fitness educators and leaders. This structure has provided a reference point not only for the member states of the European Union but also Turkish higher Education in the recreation departments in the field of sport sciences. Turkey as a country expecting membership in the European Union should align its own recreation departments to European standards in higher education system with cooperation of sports federations and national authority
