Kadınlar, 17. yüzyılda Aydınlanma ile beraber sosya-kültürel, siyasi ve ekonomik yaşam alanlarında, toplumda atanan rollerine, ikinci sınıf statülerine, sistemli baskılara ve eşitsizliğe karşı mücadele etmektedirler. Bu mücadele, teori boyutunda başlamış olup, Fransız Devrimi’nde kadınların karşı cinsle eşit haklara sahip olması için fiziksel mücadeleye dönüşmüş ve bu hareket feminizm kuramının köklerini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Feminizm, temelde erkek egemen düzenin önüne geçerek kadın hakları için savaş veren, cinsiyetçi yaklaşımlara karşı olan, kamusal alan ve özel hayatta kadına yönelik baskıcı yaklaşımların sonlandırılması için mücadele veren bir yaklaşımdır. Feminizm, tarihsel süreç içerisinde evrimsel dönüşüme uğrayarak üç dalgaya ayrılmıştır. Feminist kadınlar, bulundukları dönemin koşulları altında, önce meşru haklarını elde etmek, ardından ise özgürlüklerini evrensel ve bireysel boyutta politik bir talep olarak kazanmak için mücadele etmişlerdir. Bu evrimsel gelişim sürecinde, ikinci dalga feminist Hareketin toplumdaki dönüştürücü etkisinin ve feminizm kuramının oluşumunda ve şekillenmesinde üstlendiği önemli rolün ortaya konulmasına gereksinim duyulmuştur. Bu çalışmada feminizm kavramı, tarihsel süreç içerisinde evreleri ve ikinci dalga feminist hareketin kuramsal yaklaşımları incelenmiştir. Makalede, geçmişte yaşanmış olay ve olguların açıklanmasında, sorunsalın geçmişle olan ilişkisinin irdelenmesinde ve tarihsel sürecin farklı bir şekilde gelişmesine neden olan etkenlerin ortaya konulmasında başvurulan bir usül olan karşılaştırılmalı tarihi yöntem esas alınmıştır. Çalışma ikinci dalga feminizmin, feminist kuramın gelişim sürecindeki etkisini irdelemiş ve ikinci dalga hareketinin ortaya koyduğu kavramlarının, sorunsalın bütününe yönelik kapsayıcı yaklaşımı ve alt kategorilere kırılmasının temel kaynağı olması nedenleriyle feminizm kuramının teorik altyapısını oluşturduğu çıkarımı ile sonlandırılmıştır.
Since the 17th century, women have been engaged in a struggle against their assigned roles, second-class status, systematic oppression, and inequalities in various spheres of society, especially during the Enlightenment period. This struggle began at the theoretical level and evolved into a physical movement during the French Revolution, giving rise to the roots of feminist theory. Feminism fundamentally aims to overcome patriarchal structures and advocate for women's legitimate rights, take a stand against gender discrimination, and eliminate the pressures and controls women face in the public and private domains. Throughout history, feminism has evolved through three waves. Feminist activists, adapting to the conditions of their time, primarily fought to attain their rightful rights and later pursued their freedoms as universal and individual political demands. In this evolutionary development process, there is a need to reveal the transformative impact of the second wave feminist movement on society and the important role it played in the formation and shaping of feminist theory. This study examines the concept of feminism, its historical stages, and the theoretical approaches of the second wave feminist movement. The article is based on the comparative historical method, which is a method used to explain the events and phenomena of the past, to examine the relationship of the problematic with the past, and to reveal the factors that cause the historical process to develop differently. The research explores the impact of the second wave feminism on the development of feminist theory and concludes that the concepts and issues brought forth by the second wave movement constitute the foundational source for the theoretical framework of feminist theory due to its comprehensive approach to the overall problem and its subdivision into various subcategories.
