Abstract:

Human actions hold a significant place in the annals of thought throughout history. Positive emotions like happiness and inner peace, which underpin human actions and form the bedrock of life's meaning and purpose, carry substantial weight. Inner peace stands as a prerequisite for a fulfilling life and serves as a common thread across disciplines such as philosophy, psychology, and sociology. The exploration of the causes behind human actions intersects with the realms of happiness and inner peace. Moreover, concepts and their attributed meanings play pivotal roles in the realms of communication sciences and interpersonal interaction. Despite the abundance of studies on the concept of inner peace in literature, research that offers a broad perspective within cultural and social contexts remains limited. Hence, studies delving into the scientific investigation of the concept of inner peace have been scrutinized. Data for this research were sourced from the YÖKTEZ database and analyzed utilizing methods such as document analysis and thematic analysis. The findings suggest that literary works wield considerable influence over the interpretation of emotions and the establishment of concept-meaning relationships from a societal standpoint. In Turkish literature, the concept of inner peace finds its roots in the works of Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, particularly his piece "Huzur," underscoring the impact of literary works on the shaping of concepts within Turkish culture. Furthermore, our findings underscore the significance of literary works and prominent figures in comprehending the cultural significance of a concept.
