Abstract:

The present study is based on the comparative study of Stress Management of Government and private secondary school teachers in Sundargarh and Deogarh districts of Odisha. Six hundred secondary school teachers were selected as a sample for the study. The simple random sampling method was adopted for this sampling study. The tool Stress Management Scale (SME) was developed and standardized by Dr. Vandana and Dr. Namrata Arora. It consists of 36 items in which 18 are positive statements and 18 are negative statements. After analysis it was found that the Government Secondary School teachers are found to be more levels of stress management than the private secondary school teachers. The male teachers are found to be better stress management than the female teachers. The teachers, who excel in stress management are more mentally healthy, work fruitfully and productively and also make the students to cope up stress for better survival. The school authorities need to conduct awareness programmes of stress management techniques in schools.
