Bu çalışma, Gaziantep’teki Suriyeli birey ve ailelerin yaşadıkları sorunlarla nasıl baş etmeye çalıştıklarını anlama çabasındadır. Baş etme stratejilerini ortaya çıkarmak için Gaziantep’te 2018 Kasım ile 2019 Mart arasında kent merkezindeki yirmi dört aile ve altmış dört kişiyle yarı yapılandırılmış soru formlarıyla derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Saha görüşmelerinden elde edilen bulgular bize Suriyelilerin sorunlarla baş etmek adına yeni ve farklı stratejiler geliştirdiklerini ortaya koymaktadır. Çalışma çok genel hatlarıyla Ortadoğu’daki ayaklanmaların sonuçlarına değinmekte ve onun ardından gelişen çatışma, savaş ve şiddetin yarattığı mülteci krizlerini ele almaktadır. Türkiye ve Gaziantep’teki Suriyeli nüfusun demografik görünümüne vurgu yapılmakta ve en son bölümde Gaziantep’te yaşayan mülteci ailelerin genel profili verilmektedir. Mültecilerin sahip oldukları kaynak, imkân ve sermaye türlerinin sorunlarla baş etme stratejileri üzerindeki etkileri tartışılacaktır.
This study tries to understand how the Syrian families and individuals deal with the problems they have had. In order to understand and reveal the coping strategies of the refugees, a field research has been conducted in Gaziantep between November 2018 and March 2019, interviewing more than twenty-four families, and sixty-three individuals. The results of the survey showed us that the Syrians improve and develop new and different coping strategies with all the instruments they have. From a general perspective, this study will first mention the results of the uprisings and then the refugee crisis in the Middle East that occurred after the wars, conflicts, and violence escalation. The study will emphasize the demographic situation of the refugee families who live in Turkey and Gaziantep, and a general refugee profile will be depicted through the survey. At the final stage, the study aims to debate the impacts of sources, capitals, and capabilities on the coping strategies refugees have.
