Abstract:

The purpose of the study: The level of the concept of urban forest, which is in constant development, has been studied in Turkey and in the world. However, in Turkey, the concept of urban forest is aimed at being legally addressed and the legal shortcomings at this point are addressed and solutions are proposed. Materials and Methods: The study has primarily studied the development and development of the concept of urban forest in the world. The development of urban forestry in Turkey and the subject-related definitions and practices have been studied. In the latter stage, the legal dimension of urban forestry is addressed according to the hierarchy of standards, and the objectives expected from the city forest are examined in terms of legal legislation. Results: In Turkey, there is confusion between different public institutions and organizations regarding the management and responsibility of such areas. It is clear that the municipalities in the position of the main operator of urban forests do not consider the examples in developed countries sufficiently. City forests are places open to use within the state forests and are actually in the status of Egyptian place. The uncontrolled use of urban forests increases the pressure on state forests. Research emphasis: Local governments and forest administration should act together to prevent urban and surrounding green spaces from being destroyed. In the planning of these areas, social and environmental functions should be the primary goal. The city forest does not mean that society can use it for different purposes.
