Abstract:

Different roles in the social structure and their interpretation also lead to unequal distributions in communication. Power index in the social context and hierarchical structure are the most important causes of this unequal distribution. Communication participants have expectations from each other all the time and these expectations originate from culture. Intercultural communication has its own characteristics. Competence in intercultural communication can be developed in time and it affects the communication between people. Most communication problems are caused due to lack of this competence. The most important feature of intercultural communication is the cultural difference. Cultural differences play an important role in communication with foreigners. In addition, this gives you the ability to establish superiority to the opposing party. These actions cause communication problems and prevent healthy communication. The fact that people are not able to fully express themselves may result in failure in the field of business and in physical violence. In order to avoid this, favourable circumstances should be offered for immigrants. When they are given the opportunity to ensure their participation in culture, then a healthy intercultural communication can be established.
