Osmanlı dönemi edebî geleneği içinde yetişen divan şairleri, mensubu oldukları toplumda cereyan eden birçok sosyal hadiseyi şiirlerine aksettirmekten geri durmamışlardır. Şairler şahit oldukları hadiseleri, hem iyi bir gözlemci edasıyla ayrıntılarına kadar tavsif etmişler hem de sahip oldukları şairlik hassasiyetiyle bunları çeşitli edebî sanatlar ve zengin anlam çağrışımlarıyla eserlerine aksettirmişlerdir. Böylece yaşadıkları dönemde kendilerini de etkileyen bu hadiseleri bir tarihçi edasıyla kayıt altına almalarının yanı sıra mensubu oldukları toplumun hissiyatına tercüman olmak gibi insani ve vicdani bir vazifeyi de ifa etmişlerdir. Bu meyanda divan şairlerinin içinde yetiştikleri toplumda şahit oldukları önemli vakalardan biri de özellikle Osmanlı’nın başkenti olması hasebiyle ticarî, iktisadi, siyasi, kültürel ve edebî hayatın en canlı merkezi olan İstanbul’da çıkan yangınlardır. Bu çalışmada 19. yüzyıl şairlerinden Safvet’in yaşamış olduğu dönemde şahit olduğu iki büyük İstanbul yangını hakkında biri kıt’a diğeri ise kaside nazım şekliyle kaleme aldığı manzumelerin şekil ve muhteva özellikleri üzerinde durularak bunlar üzerine bazı değerlendirmelerde bulunulacaktır.
Those who have grown up in the literary tradition of the Ottoman era have not ceased to acknowledge their poems the many social events that have grown up in the society in which they are members. Poets have advised the events they have witnessed, both with a good observer to their details, and with the poetic sensitivity they have, they have brought them to their works with various literary arts and rich meaning calls. Thus, in the period they lived, they had a human and conscientious duty as well as to be a translator to the sense of society in which they were a member of the history of recording these events that influenced themselves. One of the important cases they are witnessing in the society in which the divan poets are raised is the fires in Istanbul, which is the most vibrant center of commercial, economic, political, cultural and literary life, especially because of the Ottoman capital. In this study of the 19th century poets of Safvet's two great Istanbul fires that witnessed in the period that he lived, one to the coast and the other to the shape of the manuscripts he received in the form of the Nazim in the case will be given some assessments on them, focusing on the shape and the characteristics of the manuscripts he received in the form of the Nazim in the case.
