Purpose: Blood and blood products are infections that are transmitted from the products used after transfusion. After transfusion of blood and blood products, infections caused by hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus and human immune failure virus (HIV) continue to be a major health problem. Therefore; screening tests such as HBsAg, anti-HCV, anti-HIV and Treponema pallidum RPR (Rapid Plasma Reagin) or VDRL (Venereal Disease Research Laboratory) are tests that are mandatory to be examined immediately before blood transfusions. The purpose of the HBsAg, which is being compulsively scaned in people seeking blood donation at our center, is to detect the seroprevalence of the results of the anti-HCV, anti-HIV and syphilis tests and to compare with other regions in our country. Tools and Methods: From 1 September 2012 to 31 July 2018 the screening test results of a total of 1326 blood donors who apply to the Necip Fazil City Hospital’s Blood Transfusion Center were examined retrospectively. Results: 56 (4.2%) between the ages of 18 to 65 who apply to the blood center in our region are women and 1270 (95.8%) are men, and a total of 1326 healthy blood donors with electrochemiluminesans immunoassay (EIA) technique (Cobas e 601, Roche Diagnostic, Germany) 7 HBsAg ( 0.5%), 2 anti-HCV ( 0.15%), 1 VDRL ( 0.07%) positivity is studied with the quality lam floculation method. Seropositivity has not been detected. The result: in healthy blood donors in our region, the seropositivity of HBsAg is quite lower than the country’s average and decreased over the years. Anti-HCV, anti-HIV and VDRL seropositivity are within the range of other studies performed in our country, high levels of seropositivity.
