Ayla Kutlu, zengin birikimi ve bakış açısıyla eserlerinde inceleme merakı uyandıran Modern Türk Edebiyatı’nın seçkin yazarlarındandır. 1970 sonrasında kadına ve kadın sorunlarına yaklaşımıyla dikkat çeken eserler vermiş olan Ayla Kutlu’nun hikâyelerinde, kadınların sorunlarına yönelik birçok önemli nokta yer almaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Kutlu’nun hikâyelerinden hareketle cinsiyet, cinsiyet tutumları içinde kadının rolü, cinsiyet ve toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinin oluşumundaki etkenler, toplumun kız çocuklarına bakışı, kız çocuklarına-kadına karşı kullanılan dil ve üslup, toplumun eğitime yaklaşımı ele alınmıştır. Araştırmada Ayla Kutlu’nun dört hikâye kitabındaki otuz beş hikâyesi incelenmiştir. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi kullanılmıştır. Veriler doküman incelemesine göre toplanmış, betimsel analizle değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada yazarın hikâyeciliği ve Türk edebiyatında kadının konumuna değinilmiş, incelenen hikâye kitapları çerçevesinde eğitimde yaşanan sıkıntılar ve özellikle kız çocuklarına yönelik eğitim sorunları, kız çocuklarının okumaması durumunda toplumun ne tür sorunlarla karşılaşacağı üzerinde durulmuştur. Cinsiyetçi tutumlar ve kız çocuklarının eğitim sorunlarının göz ardı edilmesinin toplumda oluşturacağı kayıplar üzerine ortaya konan görüşler, benzer çalışmaların sonuçlarıyla karşılaştırılarak tartışılmış ve çeşitli önerilere yer verilmiştir.
Ayla Kutlu is one of the outstanding writers of Modern Turkish Literature, which has a rich accumulation of knowledge and perspective for the curiosity to study in its works. Ayla Kutlu's stories, which gave works that attracted attention with the approach to women and women's problems after 1970, contain many important points towards women's problems. In this study, from the stories of Kutlu, the gender, the role of the woman in gender attitudes, the factors in the formation of gender and social gender roles, the view of the society on the girls, the language and style used against the girls-woman, the approach to education of the society. The study has studied the thirty-five stories in Ayla Kutlu’s four stories books. In the study, the document examination methods of quality research were used. The data is collected according to the document review, evaluated by visual analysis. In the study, the writer’s historicity and the position of the woman in Turkish literature were pointed out, the study of the story books focused on the difficulties in education and especially the educational problems for the girls, what kind of problems the society would face if the girls did not read. Opinions on gender attitudes and the losses that the ignorance of the educational problems of girls will cause in society have been discussed compared to the results of similar studies and presented various suggestions.
