Intramuscular injection, which is a parenteral application, is the responsibility of the nurse. In intramuscular practice, ventrogluteal site is recommended in adults, while the use of vastus lateralis, also called deltoid muscle and anterolateral area, is suggested in children under 3 years of age. Intramuscular applications which are frequently used for vaccination in children vary according to age, dose, quantity and application status. In recent years, studies have shown that intramuscular applications can be performed of ventrolguteal area under 3 years of age and infants aged 0-36 months. Updated literatüre has been investigated regarding to intramuscular applications in children’s ventrolguteal area in this review
