Abstract:

The determination of the optimal occlusal vertical dimension (OVD) that is harmonious with the individual's craniofacial system is important for prosthetic restorative procedures. The purpose of this article was to examine the importance of OVD for implants supported prosthetic restorations with two clinical reports. A computer aided literature review was conducted to define the articles about OVD and implant supported restorations. The review revealed that one-stage OVD increase with moderate to level degrees (3-16 mm, average: 7.3 mm) did not result in any complaints or temporomandibular disorders. Regaining the OVD did not result in relapse or any changes. Moderate alterations in the occlusal vertical dimension of patients are generally well tolerated when necessary for therapeutic purposes. The purpose of this article is to examine the importance of the oxygen vertical size in terms of implant-on-implant prothetic restorations with two facts. Computer-supported scan on the relationship of the overimplant protheses with the oclusion vertical size has been done. The literary assessment found that the one-stage vertical size increase made at a medium and high level (3-16 mm, average: 7.3 mm) in total tooth deficiency did not lead to any approach or temporomandibular joint irregularity. In the re-winning ODB, no change or return was observed. In implant-supported proteic restorations, if it is necessary for therapeutic purposes, the average increase of ODB is well tolerated by patients.
