Abstract:

This study was conducted with the aim of adapting "Physicians' Reactions to Uncertainty Scale" to the English language.  Tools and Methods: 257 doctors who have specialized training in the University Hospital of Çukurova participated in the study. Following the language validity studies, validity and reliability analyses were carried out. For the building validity, the disclaimer factor analysis and the verifying factor analysis, the Cronbach alpha internal consistency ratings were used for reliability. Results: Correlations between the scores obtained from the scale's original and translated forms for language validity were found as 0.805 for "Uncertainty Cause Anxiety (BDA)" and 0.874 for "Uncertainty Cause Anxiety (KSHE)" and 0.854 for "Uncertainty Cause Anxiety (BHAI)" and 0.890 for "Uncertainty Cause Anxiety (HHAI)" and 0.874 for "Uncertainty Cause Anxiety (BHAI)" and 0.874 for "Uncertainty Cause Anxiety (BHAI)" and 0.874 for "Uncertainty Cause Anxiety (BHAI)" and 0.890 for "Uncertainty Cause Anxiety (BHAI)" and 0.874 for "Uncertaint The comparative fit index (CFI) was 0.96, the Normed Fit Index (NFI) was 0.93, the Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index (AGFI) was 0.88 and the Incremental Fit Index (IFI) was 0.96 and the Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) was 0.065. The cronbach alpha reliability ratio for the scale and its subdimensions was 0.855 for BDA, 0.910 for KSHE, 0.854 for BHAI, 0.948 for HHAI and 0.790 for the entire scale. Results: The findings show that HBTÖ’s Turkish adaptation can be used as a valid and reliable tool in the measurement of doctors’ reactions to uncertainty.
