Abstract:

In Turkey, the Halkeveri began to be founded from the middle of February of 1932, with time it gained a momentum and served the cultural life by increasing the number each year. Their people’s goal is to reach the goal that Atatürk has shown, that is, to bring the country to the level of modern civilization. For this he has worked towards the education, development of society, the information of the people, the being of a contemporary society. He performed this work through nine separate arms. One of them, one of the most important, is the Beautiful Arts Column. The theatre and music activities that are included in this arm have been given special attention. Through this, he created a cultural and art environment in the area where he was, he tried to educate theatre writers, actors and audience. Konya Halkevi, one of the first twelve communities opened in Turkey, has also participated in the theatre work along with other activities. Halkevi was opened in 1932 and after completing the committee elections began the theatrical work. In the first few years, the work has increased over time. These works are largely the games that are played in the city centre. But the work area was extended over time and spread from the city center to the districts. The cultural activities of the People's Republic, which contributed greatly to Konya's art life, have generally slowed down since 1949. The theatre has also taken the fortune of this, and the performance of the games has increasingly decreased both in quality and quantity. In the study, the theatrical works of Konya Halkevinin were discussed and studied to the extent that they reflected in the press organs of the period and the theatrical life that spread through the publications in Turkey between 1932-1951 years was evaluated in the example of Konya.
