Abdullah b. Cübeyr’in hayatı ve faaliyetleri ele alınacaktır.
‘Abd Allah b. Ḏj̲ubayr is one of the important names of the Ansar, a member of the al-Aws Tribe. He was known as a person who fought for the spread of Islam by becoming Muslim in the early days when Islam began to spread in Yat̲h̲rib and took risks for this regard. Although he had faith before The Second Aqabah Pledge, he had never been able to meet the Prophet. He was able to meet him here and took his place among the Companions. He never left the side of the prophet whom he believed in when their paths crossed during the Second Aqabah Pledge and took on important duties in his struggle. After participating in the Battle of Badr, he took Abu’l Âs prisoner at the end of the war and released him without ransom at the request of the Prophet after the war. He served as the commander of the archers on ‘Ayneyn Hill, which was a critical position during the Uḥud Battle. When the Prophet told them that they should not leave there no matter what happens, solemnly he fulfilled it. At the beginning of the battle, he was not getting excited by following events that happen in favour of Muslims. The archers, who saw that the army of polytheists who was about to be defeated had fled, began to leave from the hill thinking that the war was over, he retained his place. Because some of archers could not maintain the same stability, K̲h̲ālid b. al-Walīd, who has been looking for opportunity since the beginning of the war, when he saw the archers on the hill going down, he attacked there with his troop and they killed many archers, especially ‘Abd Allah b. Ḏj̲ubayr. In this article, the life, and activities of ‘Abdullah b. Ḏj̲ubayr the famous archer of Uhud who has many good qualities, such as being brave, generous, helpful and forward-thinking will be discussed.
