For this purpose, 30 pairs of human lungs taken from adult cravings were studied. In our work, a total of 13 accessories were observed in 12 of the cabinets. The most common accessory fissure, the right bottom accessory fissure (%20). If the second frequently found accessory fissure, the left horizontal fissure (6.66%). The accessory fissure between the frontal and lateral basal segments in the lower lungs of the right lungs, the asygos fissure, the accessory fissure between the medial and lateral segments of the middle lungs, the accessory fissure between the upper and lower lungs segments and the upper accessory fissure were found at an equal frequency (3.33%). The presence of accessory fissures in the lungs may change the pre-operative strategy for pulmonary lobectomy and toracoscopic segmentectomy. Our findings are in accordance with other studies in the literature. However, in one of the left lungs two accessories fissura and fissura obliqua were observed. So the lungs were in a look of four lobes. We did not find such a case in literature. Keywords: lungs, accessories, variation. Abstract Accessory fissures of the lungs The purpose of this study was to classify the accessory fissures of the lungs and to assess and compare with the results of previous studies that were performed by different methods. For this purpose, 30 pairs of lungs from adult bodies were investigated. In our study, 13 accessory fissures were seen in 12 cadavers. The most common accessory fissure was the right inferior accessory fissure (20%). The second most common accessory fissure was the supernumerary left horizontal fissure (6.66%). The accessory fissure between the anterior and lateral basal segments of the right lower lobe, the azygos fissure, the accessory fissure between the medial and lateral segments of the right middle lobe, the accessory fissure between the superior and inferior lingular segments and the left superior accessory fissure were seen in equal frequencies (3.33%). The presence of accessory fissures in the lungs may alter the preoperative strategy for pulmonary lobectomy and thoracoscopic segmentectomy. Our findings are consistent with studies in the literature. But, one of the left lungs is included two accessory fissures and oblique fissures. Therefore the long had a four-lobed appearance.
