Mondros Mütarekesi sonrasında Fransız işgaline terk edilen Sancak, bilâhare Milletler Cemiyeti’nce Fransız “mandat” yönetimine bırakılmıştır. “Mandat” yönetiminin 1936’da sona ermesiyle ise Sancak, Türkiye’nin özellikle Atatürk’ün bizzat kararlı girişimleri ve yönlendirmesiyle bağımsızlık sürecine girmiştir. Bu aşamada Türkiye’nin uyguladığı kararlı politika ile Sancak, 1938 yılında Hatay Cumhuriyeti adıyla bağımsız bir devlet olarak tarih sahnesine çıkacaktır.

Abstract:

Sancak, which was left to the French occupation after the Mondros conflict, was left to the French "mandat" administration by the Billahara Nations Society. With the end of the "Mandat" administration in 1936, Sancak entered the independence process by Turkey, especially with the determined initiatives and guidance of Atatürk. At this stage, with the firm policy implemented by Turkey, Sancak will come to the stage of history as an independent state under the name of the Republic of Hatay in 1938.
