Bu araştırmada, ilkokul öğrencilerinin öğrenme stilleri ile fen bilimleri dersine ilişkin tutumları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Araştırmaya 2020–2021 eğitim ve öğretim yılı içinde Orta Karadeniz bölgesinde bulunan bir ilde öğrenim gören 3. ve 4. sınıf öğrencileri katılmış olup, 92 kız ve 64 erkek olmak üzere toplam 156 öğrenci ile çalışma yürütülmüştür. Araştırma kapsamında veri toplama aşamasında “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”, “Öğrenme Stilleri Ölçeği” ve “Fen Bilimleri Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin analiz sürecinde SPSS 22.0 programından faydalanılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin fen bilimleri dersindeki öğrenme stilleri ve tutum düzeylerinin cinsiyete göre karşılaştırılmasında “Mann Whitney U Testi” kullanılırken, öğrencilerin öğrenme stillerine göre fen bilimleri dersine yönelik tutumlarının karşılaştırılmasında ise “Kay Kare Testi” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda öğrencilerin fen bilimleri dersine yönelik tutumlarının ve öğrenme stillerinin cinsiyet değişkenine göre anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği bulunmuştur. Bunun yanında fen bilimleri dersindeki tutumların öğrenme stillerine göre de farklılaştığı görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak, ilkokul öğrencilerinde cinsiyet faktörünün fen bilimleri dersine yönelik tutum ve öğrenme stilleri üzerinde belirleyici olduğu, bunun yanında öğrenme stillerinin derse yönelik öğrenci tutumu üzerinde etkili olmadığı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.
In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between primary school students’ learning styles and their attitudes towards science lessons. In the 2020-2021 academic year, 3rd and 4th grade students who study in a district of a city in the Central Black Sea Region participated in the research and the research was carried out on a total of 156 students, including 92 female and 64 male. In the data collection process of the research, ‘Personal Information Form’, ‘Learning Styles Scale’ and ‘Science Attitude Scale’ were used. SPSS 22.0 program was used in the analysis process of the data obtained in the research. While the ‘Mann Whitney U Test’ was used to compare the learning styles and attitudes of the students who participate in the study according to gender, the ‘Chi Square Test’ was used to compare the students’ attitudes towards the science lesson according to their learning styles. At the end of the study, it was found that the attitudes of the students towards the science course showed a significant difference according to the gender variable (p<0.05). Similarly, it was determined that the learning styles of the students in the science course differed significantly according to the gender (p<0.05). Besides, it was determined that students’ attitudes towards science course no significant difference according to their learning styles (p<0.05). As a result, it can be said that the gender factor is determinative on the attitudes and learning styles towards the science course in primary school students, and in addition, learning styles are also not effective on the students’ attitudes towards the course.
