Araştırmada roman annelerin istihdam edilebilirliklerine yönelik olarak verilen eğitim programlarının annelerin bilgi düzeyleri, tutumları ve davranışları üzerine etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada deneme öncesi modellerden tek grup öntest–sontest modeli ile nitel araştırma modellerinden olgubilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Konya İli Karatay İlçesi Doğanlar Mahallesi’nde yaşayan toplam 51 roman anne oluşturmuştur. Roman annelere on iki hafta süreyle “El Sanatları Eğitimi” “Anne Eğitim Programı”, Beslenme ve Hijyen Eğitimi”, “Okuma-Yazma Eğitimi” ve Psiko-Sosyal Destek Eğitim Programı” verilmiştir. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak “Aile Bilgi Formu”, “Roman Annelerin Eğitim Uygulaması ile İlgili Görüşme Formu” ve “Eğitim Değerlendirme Formu” kullanılmıştır. Eğitim Değerlendirme Formu araştırmacılar tarafından literatür taranarak ve program içerikleri temel alınarak geliştirilmiş olup, formun geçerlik çalışması için uzman görüşleri alınmış, güvenirlik çalışmaları için Cronbah alfa güvenilirlik katsayısı hesaplanmıştır. Veri toplama araçlarıyla elde edilen veriler frekans, yüzde ve ilişkili gruplar için t-testi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda annelerin tutum, bilgi düzeyi ve davranış öntest-sontest puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı farklılık olduğu saptanmıştır.
