Abstract:

In the context of the national cultural policies of the Republic, such as in all fields, innovative movements have been carried out in the field of beautiful arts. If work was done in the sculpture field in the Industrial Nefise Mektebi, which was founded during the Ottoman Empire, technical and plastic works were not produced that capture the age. The young republic, which aims to train its statue capable of producing world standards, invites the famous German statue Rudolf Belling to the country, who has done strong work in the field of modern art and has been limited to his work in the country, like many modern artists after the National Socialist understanding that came to power in 1933. Professor Belling accepted the proposal from Turkey since 1937. Belling, starting with the educational days, which will last for 30 years and is considered a turning point for the Turkish statue history, changes the entire educational system. The workshop system he reorganized and the understanding of education and the new generation of sculptures that have been able to produce both modern sculptures in the interior and outer spaces and need to design and apply the work of the monument. This study brings together the students of the Belling workshop and brings together the artists who grown up in the period until the division of the workshops in the Academy after 1950.
