Abstract:

The aim of this study is to evaluate cancer patients in the framework of psychonology with a biopsychosocially comprehensive approach. The study was conducted with 151 patients diagnosed with cancer from the oncology unit. The data is obtained from the patient/patient near anamnese and training form, mental state examination (RDM) criteria, stress thermometer, patient/patient near appointment card, training materials and face-to-face conversation sessions. In the analysis of this study, the "Statistical Package Program (SPSS) 22.0" program was used, the numerical data was evaluated by number-percent distribution, ki-quar and spearman correlation analysis. 68.9% of the 151 patients in the study were female, 31.1% (n:47) male, and the average age was 51.6±26.6. According to the findings, patients have considered cancer as a negative stress factor, cancer perceptions are identified with death, their concerns are related to the course of cancer diagnosis and treatment (prognosis), the fact that the cancer occurrence is shrinking and changing their life dynamics due to the uncertainty in the treatment response to physical illness, and they have experienced the most disorders. As a result, it can be said that the individual-specific psychological support and treatments in the psychonology practices for cancer patients are effective in adapting to the meaning and acceptance of the disease as long as it is charged with the disease, the positive well-being state contributes positively to the feeling of good, the concept of hope contributes positively to the treatment response.
