Abstract:

It is necessary to transmit social and cultural events in the memory of society in every age to the new generations. The recording of events and events enters both the common sphere of history and literature. Nevertheless, historical and historical novel writers approach the same period, people or events in different methods. When the historian is looking for the truth from a series of data and documents, the artist is not required to translate the historical reality as it is. In this context, the artist provides details about the period outside of the official history learned from the history books. The author's judgment of historical reality goes to the 18th century in Europe. The English literature pioneers Walter Scott's novels, influenced by Scott's history, spread to other European countries such as Germany and France, so the "historic novel" type was born. Today, literary research discussions on the definition of the historical novel are still in force. On the other hand, many researchers and writers are both ideas in the point that this kind reinterpretes historical reality with the methods and techniques that are specific to literature. In 1985, the “Fire” was published in the “Fire”. It tells the life of a woman born as Eleni and converted to Naciye Arif. From the social, cultural and ideological conflicts between individuals, the novel is fictional and offers clues about the events of Cyprus. While the case time passes in the 1950s, the novel is based on a wide historical ground in sub-readings. “Is it still in this work?” We are going to study the novel from the context of Cyprus and Eleni in the framework of the historical novel.
